Kathryn Lazar leads professional workshops

Kathryn Lazar, founder of the law firm Lazar & Schwartz and of MH Mediation, will present workshops at national conferences of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators (APFM) in October and November of 2019, adding to her impressive list of engagements presenting to fellow professionals over four decades.
On October 26, she will present two workshops at IACP’s 20th Annual Networking and Educational Forum in Chicago. With psychologist Allison Bell, she will lead a workshop on “Dealing with Challenging Clients – Team Coherence & Organizational Development.” With trusts and estates lawyer Vincent Teahan, she will lead a workshop on “Protecting Children’s Inheritance in Divorce & Remarriage.”
On November 9, she will present “Radical Candor & Other Communications Strategies” for advanced practitioners, also with Dr. Bell, at APFM’s “Next Generation of Innovation” interdisciplinary conference in Boston. The workshop focusses on three recent theories for managing interpersonal and group dynamics that provide opportunities to intervene effectively with challenging clients, team conflict and practice group functioning and growth.
Kathryn Lazar has been a divorce lawyer, collaborator and mediator for over 40 years. She is a founder of the mediation and collaborative law movements in New York’s Hudson Valley, having established the Mediation Center of Dutchess County in 1982 and having helped to establish an interdisciplinary practice group in the Hudson Valley in 2002. Her training topics have included basic mediation as well as basic and advanced interdisciplinary dispute resolution, which she has taught in New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maryland and Connecticut. She has also served on the faculties of numerous national and international conferences.
